The following optional excursions are designed to fit seamlessly within your Balinese adventure, providing a superior experience in Indonesia. These tours can be booked during the final booking process.
• Walking tour of villages near Ubud (day 3) • This visit will take you from village to village through breathtaking rice fields. You will be picked up at 09:00 by your guide, who will teach you more about Balinese country life, the subak irrigation system, rice farming and local history. You will also visit a school (it is recommended to bring small gifts with you, like pencils, balls or notebooks!). Following lunch in a local restaurant, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
• Cycling Tour of Ubud (day 2 or 3) • Discover Bali differently: this excursion will allow you to explore the island by bike, accompanied by an experienced guide. You will ride through local villages, attend a ceremony in a temple and admire the work of the local woodcarvers. You will also have the opportunity to meet Balinese families before enjoying a typical lunch in the heart of a green setting.
• Rafting on the Ayung River (day 2 or 3) • For the adrenaline junkies, head out white water rafting on the Ayung River between the gorges, the lush jungle, rice terraces and waterfalls. After being picked up at 09:00, you will be equipped with helmets and lifejackets. After two hours of rafting, you will enjoy a welcome drink at the arrival point, as well as a delicious lunch.
• Sunrise trek to Mount Batur (day 3 or 5) • Starting at 02:30, set out to conquer Mount Batur, an active volcano at 1,717 metres above sea level. Thousands of athletes have already tackled this trek, one of the most incredible in Bali. Don't forget to bring good hiking shoes, a packed lunch (to order the day before with your hotel), as well as cash to be able to buy a hot drink at sunrise!
• Snorkelling in Menjangan (day 7) • This excursion is devoted to discovering the magnificent underwater world of Indonesia. Discover clownfish, sea turtles and pufferfish in clear and calm waters, perfect for beginners and experts alike. This excursion includes all equipment, entry fees and English-speaking guide.
For trips of 14 nights, you have the option of two more fantastic excursions:
• Tetebatu Trekking (day 13) •
Setting out at 8am, you’ll take a scenic hike through the jungle near beautiful Tetebatu and Loyok village. On your guided walking tour you can get to know the special flora and fauna of the island and soak up views of the rice fields. As part of the trip, you’ll also enjoy a tasty lunch. The tour lasts approximately seven hours.
• Island Hopping Boat Cruise to the Gili Islands (day 13) •
On this boat trip you will visit the islands of Gili Meno, Gili Air and Gili Trawangan. Look forward to white sandy beaches and a mesmerising underwater world, best explored by diving and snorkelling. The tour starts at 8am and lasts approximately eight hours. Lunch and snorkelling gear are included.
