Bienvenido a Valencia!
Valencia: home of paella, quintessentially Spanish streets, and the UNESCO Heritage Site of La Lonja de la Seda. While standing in the old quarter or beside the city's gothic silk exchange, it might feel as though you've stepped back in time. However, look a little closer and you'll see that this charming city is home to breathtaking architecture, contemporary art galleries and an infectious youthful energy. From the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias building, a modern masterpiece by the locally born architect Santiago Calatrava, to the Valencian Institute of Modern Art, which boasts a 10,000-strong collection of contemporary work, it's worth taking some time to get to know this city and enjoy all it has to offer.

The green oasis of the city
The Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia is a botanical garden that first opened its doors in 1567. Located in the aptly named El Botànic neighbourhood of Valencia, today, visitors can explore more than 40,000 plants at these historic gardens.
History and art in Valencia
El Carmen is the pinnacle of art and history in Valencia, with the impressive medieval gates Torres de Serranos and Torres de Quart found here. Among the cosy cafes and bars, El Carmen is also home to some remarkable street art, including from Escif - the so-called 'Spanish Banksy' - and mural artist Hyuro.
