During this cooking class, a Spanish chef will teach you how to prepare the authentic Valencian paella. First – during the morning lessons from Monday to Saturday – you will visit Valencia’s impressive Central Market, the Mercat Central, with a guide. Here, you will find out everything about the fresh ingredients you need to make your paella. Next, you will get stuck into preparing the dish itself in the kitchen of the cooking school 'Escuela de arroces y paella Valenciana'.
There’s no better place to learn the art of paella – this school specialises in teaching its chefs-in-training, of which you are one, how to make this typical Valencian dish. But it doesn’t only teach you how to cook the dish; it also gives you an insight into the importance of paella in Spanish culture, the social element to it, and how this dish is usually prepared amongst family and friends… traditionally in the open air and using an open fire.
Once you’ve donned your chef’s apron and hat, you will learn all the tricks of the trade from a genuine paella chef. And now for the best bit: it's time to tuck into your homemade paella, which is traditionally eaten with a spoon straight from the pan! And no homemade feast is complete without a homemade dessert… which you can enjoy if you still have some room left after the main course!

Please note: for safety reasons, children under 12 years of age cannot participate in the workshop. Children are, however, welcome to watch the class and are also invited to enjoy the meal (under the supervision of an adult).
