• Day 2: Sigiriya Exploration • Sigiriya or Lion's rock is a large stone and ancient rock fortress and palace ruin in the central Dambulla of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs. Sigiriya is renowned for its ancient frescos reminiscent of the Ajanta Caves of India. It is one of the sevens World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka and an unforgettable highlight.
• Day 3: Elephant Park Jeep Safari • Head out on a Jeep safari in the Habarana National Parks and experience the magnificence of elephants in the wild. Your knowledgable guide will track the elephants and head to the National Park where all the action is at, and treat you to an evening drink surrounded by the lush nature of Minneriya, Kaudulla or the Eco National Park.
• Day 5: Royal Botanic Garden • The famous Royal Botanic Gardens are located around 5.5 kilometres from Kandy. World-renowned for its spectacular collection of orchids and other flora take a leisurely stroll in paradise on day 5 of your luxurious Sri Lanka adventure.
• Days 9-14: Madu River Boat Safari & Turtle Hatchery Visit • Take a dreamy half-day tour on the Madu River before visiting a turtle hatchery on Kosgoda. The Madu River is famous for its unique mangroves and spectacular caves, with the complex ecosystem opening out into the Indian Ocean.
• Days 9-14: Bentota Village Tour • Bentota is a coastal town on the south coast of the island and is known for its lovely beaches as well as the popular Sri Lankan drink 'toddy' made on coconut nectar. In the area you will also find both tea and cinnamon plantations as well as a beautiful river and lagoon which is home to a wide range of animal and plant life.
• Days 11-14: Trekking in the Sinharaja Rainforest • On this excursion, you hike in the tropical rainforest Sinharaja. In the UNESCO-listed rainforest you can experience a dazzling color play and Sri Lanka's largest constituent of birds, giant butterflies and mammals. The tour lasts 7-8 hours and includes transport and guide.
• Days 11-14: Whale watching • You will be picked up at the hotel early in the morning (approximately 04:00) and begin your trip south to Dondra Point, which is the best place to spot the mighty animals. From December to April there are, from the boat, great chances to see both dolphins, caskets and the king of the sea - the Blue Whale. You sail for approx. 3 hours, but expect the tour to take 7-8 hours. Transport is included. Please note that this tour will only take place from December to April.
