Crete, the largest island in the Mediterranean, is blessed with many different beaches - from rocky and fine sandy beaches, and busy beaches, to remote, deserted ones. Wherever you go, they all offer incredible views of the beautiful bays, dramatic cliffs and clear, blue water where you can dip your toes. Further inland, you’ll be amazed by the beautiful, hilly landscape around you, adorned by olive groves and fields of grazing goats. You can easily reach the capital of Crete, Iraklio, where you will find a wealth of exciting sights. The city has been under both Venetian and Ottoman influence over the years, and you can see these influences in the remains of the city's ancient architecture with Venetian fortress walls, Turkish fountains and Byzantine churches. The city's top must-see is the archaeological museum, one of Greece's most important institutions, which houses treasured artifacts from the palaces of Knossos and Phaestos and other items from Minoan times. When you feel peckish, indulge in some of the local delicacies, in the inviting blue and white tavernas. You’re never short of something exciting and enjoyable to discover in Crete!

Included excursion: Boat trip to Dia
On day 2 of the trip you’ll head on a scenic boat trip to the uninhabited island of Dia. The excursion starts at 10am at the port of Iraklio, where you’ll board the boat, before sailing on through the crystal clear waters to Dia. Make sure you pack your swimwear, as there will be plenty of opportunities to snorkel and swim, as well as see the local dolphins swimming past you. You will also be served a light lunch before sailing back to Iraklio. Enjoy!
• The tour lasts approx. 5 hours and includes a light breakfast and bottled water. Please note that transport to and from the port of Iraklio, as well as any gratuities for the skipper, are not included. • The tour takes place Monday-Friday, at approximately 10 am. You will receive more information about the date and time as well as the final vouchers along with your other travel documents.

Payment
If you book this deal before 35 days of your departure, you can choose to pay in parts. The deposit will be 50% of the deal’s price plus the booking fee and travel and/or cancellation insurance (when applicable). You will find the payment amounts and deadlines to pay every installment at the last step of the booking process.

| Car rental | The main driver must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license. Travellers should allow enough time to drive to the airport and return the rental car before the return flight. An excess risk applies in the event of theft or damage. A credit card deposit is required upon arrival. Comprehensive insurance, non-life insurance, liability insurance, theft insurance and cover for glass, tires, floor and roof damage is included.
