Breathtaking Budapest
Situated astride the River Danube and home to 1.7 million people, the two sides of Hungary’s principal city – Buda and Pest – were united back in 1873 but still retain their own individual character to this day. With 18 pools in total, including 15 that are filled by natural spring water, the Széchenyi Thermal Baths is one of the largest spa complexes in Europe. Located in the City Park and extremely popular among locals, visitors can avail of a number of relaxing treatments, with swimming pools, saunas and steam baths all on offer.
The Great Market Hall is also well worth a visit. This three-story gastronomic hub is located in a neo-Gothic hall and is a delight for all of the senses, from the sight of stalls bursting with colourful cuisine to the taste of freshly-produced local delicacies like lángos, a deep-fried flat bread. Closed on Sundays, a trip to the Market Hall is highly recommended on any other day of the week to ensure that you don’t go hungry in Budapest!

Budapest's best ruin bar
In Budapest, abandoned buildings have been transformed into cosy pubs and bars, and this is precisely Szimpla Kert. The raw walls and mismatched interiors create a relaxed and cosy atmosphere, where you can drink a Hungarian beer or two for a fun afternoon - or a whole night!
