Supetar on the island of Brac

Supetar, located in the north of the island of Brac, is the largest town in the Croatian island and is also of great importance due to its ferry connection to Split. The administrative and tourist centre not only inspires guests with its numerous shops and restaurants, but also has a lot to offer culturally. The Church of St. Mary's Annunciation is itself worth a visit, but the real highlights are the early Christian mosaics from the 6th century. From Supetar you can easily explore Brac's most beautiful sites. A trip to the Dominican monastery in Bol or a day on the Zlatni Rat beach - the golden horn of the island - is top of the list. You should also go to Split on the mainland and see the impressive buildings of the capital of Dalmatia, including the wonderfully preserved UNESCO-listed Diocletian's Palace, which dates back to the 3rd century A.D.

    The Dominican monastery in Bol on the Croatian island of Brac was built around 1475 and is an ideal excursion destination. Next to the monastery is the little church of the Madonna of God. A Renaissance painting depicting Madonna with the baby Jesus and the saints is considered the most important treasure of the associated museum.
