You’ll be based in Colonia Sant Jordi, a peaceful resort town on the south-eastern coast of Mallorca. Originally a fishing village, there still remains a vestige of its historic charm, as well as plenty of lively bars and restaurants to while away the evenings.
However, the real draw here are the beaches: there are some spectacular swathes of sand along the coast here, so don’t be afraid to venture a little further out: Es Carbo is a 20-minute walk (this is where the Spanish Royal family prop up their parasols), while to the west you’ll find Platja Es Trenc, boasting a two-kilometre stretch of glorious golden sand and crystal waters.

Campos: a slice of calm
Fifteen minutes away, in the town of Campos, lies Mallorca’s only hot water spa where you can spend a day marvelling at the spectacular views of the surreal Salobrar de Campos salt flats. Twelve kilometre’s drive will take you to the stunning beach of Es Trenc and its yacht club. Closer to home you can go cycling, hiking and play golf.
Being on the south of the island means you’re relatively close to two natural parks – Mondrago Nature Reserve, a 25-minute drive away, and Cabrera Island Nature Reserve. Remember, this is a place for getting away from it all, but you can reach Palma in about 35 minutes.
