Spread over 100 hectares of farmland including a rambling 13th-century farmhouse, every inch of Rural Sa Bassa Rotja’s sun-beaten stone, cool terracotta tiles and thick wooden beams is authentically Mallorcan. Great care has been taken to preserve its natural good looks: exposed stone walls are a frequent feature throughout, as well as heavy, wooden doors and carved furniture with a distinctly Balearic edge.
Within stumbling distance is the hotel’s restaurant, which celebrates Mallorcan cuisine with seasonally-changing menus packed full of delicious, local recipes. Chef Marti March fuses regional flavours with modern influences, but sticks true to the finca’s roots with hearty home cooking that features plenty of farm-fresh produce – much of it sourced from the hotel's own fields and orchard. Special evenings include barbecues with a side of live music, and the bar is open all day for regular imbibing.
When you're not basking in the fresh countryside air, spend a few hours enjoying the blissfully peaceful spa.
