Charming Mallorca escape to a boutique country finca

Unwind in the scenic Mallorcan countryside in a rustic 13th-century farmhouse with spa – on a half-board basis with flights, plus spa access and more
Spread over 100 hectares of farmland including a rambling 13th-century farmhouse, every inch of Rural Sa Bassa Rotja’s sun-beaten stone, cool terracotta tiles and thick wooden beams is authentically Mallorcan. Great care has been taken to preserve its natural good looks: exposed stone walls are a frequent feature throughout, as well as heavy, wooden doors and carved furniture with a distinctly Balearic edge.
Within stumbling distance is the hotel’s restaurant, which celebrates Mallorcan cuisine with seasonally-changing menus packed full of delicious, local recipes. Chef Marti March fuses regional flavours with modern influences, but sticks true to the finca’s roots with hearty home cooking that features plenty of farm-fresh produce – much of it sourced from the hotel's own fields and orchard. Special evenings include barbecues with a side of live music, and the bar is open all day for regular imbibing.
When you're not basking in the fresh countryside air, spend a few hours enjoying the blissfully peaceful spa. Slip into the refreshing waters of the indoor pool for a dip, or indulge further with a beauty treatment. Experienced therapists use natural products and specialist techniques like ultrasonic and holistic massage to leave you sated and smooth from head to toe: there are a few quirky options too, including a slime slug facial for slowing down the process of ageing and a massage with bamboo or ocean shells.

Rural Mallorca: the beauty of Porreres
Surrounded by farmland and fields for as far as the eye can see, the hotel offers rural living at its best. Nestled firmly into the sun-baked heart of Mallorca, pastoral delights are the key here: enjoy easy living with walks around the estate, hire bikes to explore on two wheels – with over 100 hectares to explore you can even get off road and discover the area’s rich floral and fauna. The gardens are ideal for making herb liqueurs – classes are available – and for restorative yoga sessions in the fresh air. A highlight of the area is discovering the weekly market of Porreres, or paying a trip to the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador in Felanitx.
Sa Bassa Rotja Ecoturisme
- Camí de sa Pedrera s/n, Spain
Welcome to Sa Bassa Rotja Ecoturisme, a boutique finca in the heart of the Porreres countryside. Boasting rustic-chic interiors, a fantastic restaurant with seasonally changing Mallorcan specialties, and a soothing spa for when you're not reconnecting with nature, you'll for nothing in this secluded slice of paradise on one of the Balearics' most-beloved islands.
Feeling peckish? Allow the snack menu to tempt you with tapas-style plates like Iberian ham croquettes or bread with smooth, garlicky allioli. More filling options are on offer too, like a Mallorcan veal hamburger with secret pepper source and llonguet, a local speciality starring a bagel, slow-cooked pork loin, cheese, tomato and fries. Breakfasts are equally lip-smacking, with local cheese, meats and pastries like sweet, doughy enseimadas.
Of course, you'll want to take the time to relish your bucolic surrounds; while away an afternoon by the outdoor pool, or indulge in an innovative treatment at the hotel's spa. Is it any wonder that the finca has earned itself a coveted Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice 2022 award?
