Magical realism is more than just a literary genre in Colombia – it’s a way of life. This is a nation so jam-packed with centuries-old colonial landmarks, tropicalia and colourful cities, peppered with art, and blanketed in the lush vines of coffee plants that you simply can’t help but feel utterly enchanted. With this 14- or 17-night days you’ll take in a number of enthralling destinations - you'll start with its eclectic capital city, Bogotá, before flying west to reach Armenia, a lush coffee-growing region framed by the Andes mountains. Next, you’ll enjoy the big city life again with a visit to Medellín, known as the ‘City of Eternal Spring’, before flying north to Colombia’s coastline for a stay in the charming walled city of Cartagena.

Please note that the 17-day trip is the same tour as the 14-day trip, but with an added beach break on the Caribbean coast, in Santa Marta.

Cradled by chilly Andean peaks and dripping with colonial architecture, Bogotá is the perfect introduction to vibrant Colombia. Get to know Colombia’s most iconic city - discover Casa de Nariño, home to the current government, soak up the grandeur of Santa Clara’s Church Museum along with other historical buildings of interest, and people-watch in Plaza Bolívar, home to majestic buildings such as the Palace of San Carlos, the Cathedral and the Lievano Palace. Finish with a visit to the Gold Museum to admire ancient pieces of Pre-Colombian goldsmiths, before whisking yourself off on a drive to visit the Salt Cathedral, an impressive chapel considered the first wonder of Colombia. As its name suggests, everything is made from salt, from the dome, sculptures and giant cross that adorns the walls inside.

Cancellation terms and conditions

Please note that if it's 29 days or more before your departure date, the cancellation fee will be 30% of the cost of the holiday (or loss of full deposit if greater). If it's 28 days or fewer before your departure date, the cancellation fee will be 100% of the cost of the holiday.
