See the best of Cambodia and Vietnam with this amazing tour with an overnight cruise of Ha Long Bay - includes breakfast and all travel, plus tours

Day 1: UK/Ireland - Siem Reap

Your epic adventure begins at your chosen airport, from which you’ll fly overnight to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Day 2: Siem Reap

Having arrived in this amazing city, famed for being the gateway to the Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former capital of the Khmer empire, you’ll meet up with your guide and transfer to your first hotel. Get acquainted with your surroundings by diving straight in and heading out to see the city, or just relax at your hotel.

Day 3: Siem Reap

Day 3 is when the magic really begins, as you set out to explore the most significant temples in the Angkor Complex, including Angkor Thom and the 12th century Preah Khan Temple. Channel your inner Indiana Jones in the afternoon and arrive at Angkor Wat, a world heritage site, and wonder at the magnificence of this most revered Cambodian temple.

Day 4: Siem Reap

Today can be spent at your leisure. Wander around the vibrant city taking it all in, or go to the sacred Phnom Kulen Mountain and surrounding countryside on an optional tour.

Day 5: Siem Reap

You have another chance to soak up the culture of Siem Reap on your own time today. If you want to learn as much about this amazing country as you can, there's another optional tour in line for you – today it’s a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, a huge body of freshwater renowned for its floating villages, farms, schools, shops and temples. Make the most of your final evening in Siem Reap with an optional Tuk-Tuk street food tour (enough to make all foodie’s stomachs rumble), where you’ll sample a wide array of authentic cuisine before dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh

After breakfast at the hotel it’s time to bid farewell to Siem Reap. Catch a bus (or, if you a prefer, an aeroplane) and transfer to Cambodia’s bustling capital – Phnom Penh. When you arrive at your hotel you have the rest of the day to yourself, but for anyone itching to get out, there’s an optional city tour where you’ll be able to tick top-billed sites off your list, such as the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda and the Central Market.

Day 7: Phnom Penh

Today’s morning will be spent on a highly poignant excursion to the infamous Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, where you’ll get a glimpse into the horror and tragedy of this country’s history. The rest of the day is yours to do as you will.

Day 8: Phnom Penh - Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast at the hotel it’s time to begin the Vietnamese leg of your tour. Transfer by bus (or if you want, by plane) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon. After arriving at your next hotel you can spend the rest of the day in whatever fashion you want; you may want to check out the city’s famous night market right away and pick up a souvenir or two.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City

Day 9 entails an amazing full-day tour of the city, where you get a taste of the rich tapestry of history and culture that’s woven throughout Ho Chi Minh. Once upon a time, the city was called 'The Paris of the Orient' because of the French colonial influence, which can still be seen today with the 19th-century Central Post Office and awe-inspiring Notre-Dame Cathedral that's made entirely of materials imported from France. You’ll also go to China Town and see the iconic Thien Hau Temple, before concluding your day with a trip to the buzzy Ben Thanh market.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City

You have the day to yourself to further explore Ho Chi Minh, or if you’d prefer, there’s an amazing optional excursion along the historic mighty Mekong Delta.

Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi

Before you leave Ho Chi Minh City, you have the option of spending the morning exploring the Cu Chi tunnels, a network of underground villages that were dug in 1948 by guerrillas to escape the bombardment of French forces. In the afternoon you’ll hop on a flight to Hanoi and transfer to your hotel.

Day 12: Hanoi

You’ll spend Day 12 on an action-packed city tour of Hanoi, where you’ll see historic sites likes the downed US B-52 bomber at Tiep Lake, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and the One Pillar Pagoda, the origins of which date back as far as the city. You’ll also bear witness to the the hive of activity at Hanoi’s Old Quarter streets as locals go about their trades. You’ll get back to your hotel in the late afternoon and the rest of the day is yours to relax.

Day 13: Hanoi

Today you’ll be able to see Vietnam’s busiest city at your leisure, or, if you’d prefer, there’s an optional full-day excursion to Ninh Binh, renowned for its karst mountains and misty caves. This is your chance to admire the natural beauty of Vietnam, as you’ll take a rowing boat along Thing Nham Valley’s canals before continuing to Mua Cave.

Day 14: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay

Leaving Hanoi, you’ll transfer by road and make your way to Ha Long Bay for your exciting overnight cruise. The bay’s a World Heritage Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known for the limestone islands that rise majestically from the glittering water, and when you arrive you’ll board the traditional junk boat and begin your aquatic adventure. Enjoy the islets, local fishing villages, caves and islands from the sundeck aboard your swanky vessel.

Day 15: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi

After a filling brunch, the ship will make its way back to the port, and from here you’ll return to Hanoi for a final afternoon – get some final souvenirs and gorge yourself on authentic Vietnamese food for the last time before you bid farewell to this unforgettable continent.
