See the best of Oman on this unforgettable tour across ancient cities, desert sands and more - with flights, breakfast, a desert stay and city tours
Oman is the oldest independent state in the Arab world and, despite the seemingly excessive wealth of its nearby neighbours, retains a true sense of the region's age-old heritage. Here, Bedouin traditions lie at the forefront of Omani culture, and towns maintain their historical charms - with low-rise buildings giving way to marvellous mountain views beyond and a pristine coastline, unspoilt by ostentatiousness. This six-night multi-centre holiday will take you around its most alluring and ancient sites with plenty of exciting tours and excursions thrown in.
You'll start in the charismatic capital of Muscat, with three nights at a city-centre hotel. Here, the inky-blue Indian Ocean is met with radiant white buildings, sweeping dunes and misty mountains. You'll have the option to get to know the place with a half-day tour, and have the chance to spend a day touring the beautiful forts of the area before moving on to your next destination.
From city to sands, you'll be transported into the Oman desert for a night in a luxury, air-conditioned desert camp after a night in Nizwa. One further night is spend in Sur, a gentle coastal town where the mountains meet the sea and you'll visit a dhow factory to learn of the city's heritage. There's even the option to visit a turtle reserve and glimpse a little nature up close and personal.
