Days 1-4: Hanoi

Arrive in Vietnam’s capital, the chaotic culinary destination of Hanoi. Head out and discover this intoxicating city on foot, being sure to spend time by the lake and at the notorious Hoa Lo Prison, the 'Hanoi Hilton'. Other sights include the Temple of Literature, an impressive ode to Confucius, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, dedicated to Vietnam’s city-namesake war hero and politician. This offer also includes a half-day tour of Hanoi City, so you can count on seeing all the best bits with an expert guide.

Days 5-6: Hanoi - Lan Ha Bay

After your first stay in Hanoi, you’ll head off on the greatest adventure of your trip. Set sail through beautiful Lan Ha Bay, a less-crowded alternative to neighbouring Halong Bay, spending one night aboard the Dora Cruise ship. While on board, cruise through Con Vit islet (Duck Islet), Thumb islet and Gia Luan Harbor. You'll also drop anchor near Ba Trai Dao Beach or Tra Bau for the chance to explore the white-sand beaches, mysterious caves and sparkling waters with activities like kayaking and swimming. After a day of adventure try your hand at cooking traditional Vietnamese dishes with a cooking class aboard the ship.

Days 7-8: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi

In the morning, set sail through the calm emerald waters of beautiful Ha Long Bay, where you'll head for the Hang Sang Toi caves - discover them at your own pace via kayak or on local bamboo boat rowed by the locals. Then it's time to return to Hanoi for an overnight stay before your next adventure.

Days 9-15: Hanoi - Ninh Van Bay

Set between the calm waters of Ninh Van Bay and a rugged backdrop of mountains and lush jungle, your third hotel puts you in a prime position to appreciate Vietnam's natural splendour. Not only will you be staying in a luxurious, sensitively designed villa with a private pool tucked into the lush hillside, you'll also have access to a stunning sweep of sandy beach. Take a dip in the sea or head further out to explore the bay's marine life on a snorkelling tour. For a change of pace, hire a private guide and trek inland to discover the region's abundant wildlife.

Days 16-18: Ho Chi Minh City

Next, you'll travel to Ho Chi Minh City. Here you'll get to discover colonial landmarks like the 19th-century Central Post Office, and the awe-inspiring Notre-Dame Cathedral, made entirely of materials imported from France. Delve into the country’s fascinating history, influences of which can be seen in the tantalising local food around every corner.

Flights are included from your selected airport to Hanoi, Vietnam, returning from HO Chi Minh, Vietnam.

A 7kg hand luggage and 45kg hold luggage allowance per person is included, as well as internal flights and private transfers except from/to Halong Bay Cruise which are shared transfers by bus.

From London Gatwick to Hanoi:
Outbound: departing at 11.10, arriving at 05.35 (following day)

Internal flight from Hanoi to Cam Ranh:
Departing at 09.55, arriving at 11.50

Internal flight from Cam Ranh to Ho Chi Minh:
Departing at 17.45, arriving at 18.45

From Ho Chi Minh to London Gatwick:
Inbound: departing at 22.30, arriving at 06.55 (following day)

Please note that both your outbound and inbound flights are overnight, so please bear this in mind when planning the time you'll be away. The date you select as your check-in date will be the day you'll fly out from the UK, and you'll arrive in Hanoi the following day to commence your 15-night holiday. The check-out date will be the day that you'll board your inbound flight back to the UK. Since your inbound is also overnight, you'll be away for a total of 17 nights.
