Singapore

Lose yourself among futuristic landmarks like Marina Bay Sands with its high-flying infinity pool, or Gardens by the Bay’s otherworldly take on synthesising nature and architecture. Those after a day in nature will appreciate Jurong Bird Park and Pulau Ubin - a jungle-covered island filled with cycle paths and traditional villages. Of course, the foodie scene is not to be missed, whether you're dining at Michelin-starred restaurants or keeping things down-to-earth at an open-air night market.

Ubud (optional)

With a base in Bali’s tranquil inner region you’re free to explore its pastoral landscape of paddy fields, thick jungle and small towns. Ubud is also both a spiritual centre of the island as well as a hub for Balinese art and craft. The town’s ancient jungle-swathed temples are perfectly embodied by Saraswati Temple, known for its placid lily-covered ponds. To get acquainted with both classical and contemporary local art, spend an afternoon exploring nearby museums like Agung Rai Museum of Art. For something a little out of the ordinary, pay a visit to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, home to the town's cheeky resident monkeys.

Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua sits on Bali's southern coast and is home to a plethora of lovely sandy beaches, such as Pantai Mengiat and Geger Beach, as well as an 18-hole golf course at Bali National Golf Club. The coastline is primed for swimming and snorkelling, and the waves are challenging if you're a surfer. There are plenty of art galleries to explore in the area here, as well as temples, which hold their own regular rituals and celebrations. Local attractions include the Water Blow - where the Indian Ocean crashes against the rocks and can surge up to 30 metres - and the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park.

From London Heathrow, with Singapore Airlines:

Departing London Heathrow between 20.50 and 22.05, arriving into Singapore between 16.55 and 18.10 (on the following day).

Internal flight from Singapore to Bali Denpasar:

Departing Singapore between 9.15 and 18.20, arriving into Bali between 11.55 and 20.50

Inbound from Bali to London Heathrow, via Singapore:

Departing Singapore between 20.00 and 21.45, arriving into London Heathrow between 5.55 and 7.45 (on the following day).

Please note that both your outbound and inbound flights are overnight, so please bear this in mind when planning the time you'll be away. The date you select as your check-in date will be the day you'll fly out from the UK, and you'll arrive in Singapore the following day to commence your 10 or 14-night holiday. The check-out date will be the day that you'll board your inbound flight back to the UK. Since your inbound is also overnight, you'll be away for a total of 12 or 16 nights.
