Bangkok

You’ll start your holiday in the country’s cosmopolitan capital. Brimming with energy, Bangkok has some of the most impressive bars and restaurants in Asia, as well as a grand palace (which you'll be able to admire with a half-day tour, included with this offer) and endless historical attractions. Zip between gilded landmarks and modern malls by tuk-tuk, pick up exotic produce at a floating market, and sample the city’s legendary street food by night. Be sure to visit the many temples that line the riverside; Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is one of the most iconic, but Wat Pho, with its 46-metre-long reclining Buddha, is a must-visit too.

Chiang Mai

Your next stop sees you hole up in Chiang Mai for a stay at Melia Hotel, which sits in the city centre and is perfect for exploring. Overlooking the Ping River, you’ll be just a 15-minute walk from the Tha Phae Gate of the walled, moated Old City, Chiang Mai’s cultural heart. Be sure to stop by on a Sunday to visit the Walking Street market, and spend some time admiring the myriad temples. Other cultural escapades here include cooking classes, bamboo rafting, river cruising and, of course, indulging in a Thai massage or two. Koh Samui

Last, but by no means least, is a dreamy stay on Thailand’s second largest island, the picture-perfect paradise of Koh Samui. Just steps away from the idyllic, golden sands of Chaweng Beach, your hotel is framed by swaying palms and lush greenery. Relax amongst the tropical flora, take a dip in the turquoise waters or head inland on a hike to the jungle’s waterfalls for a refreshing swim. As well as blissful island scenes, there are serene and beautiful temples to discover here, including the awe-inspiring Khao Hua Jook Chedi temple, perched on a hilltop, and the impressive Big Buddha statue where you can receive a blessing from local monks.

From London Heathrow to Bangkok, with Eva Air, Thai Airways or Bangkok Airways:

Outbound: Departing at 21.35, arriving at 15.05 (following day)

Internal flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai:

Internal flight from Chiang Mai to Koh Samui:

From Koh Samui (via Bangkok) to London Heathrow:

Please note that your outbound flight is overnight, so please bear this in mind when planning the time you'll be away.
