Hanoi

You’ll start this sensational journey in Vietnam’s capital, the chaotic culinary destination of Hanoi, where you’ll be staying in the charming Old Quarter. From your location in this history-steeped neighbourhood, head out to discover this intoxicating city on foot, being sure to spend time by the lake and at the notorious Hoa Lo Prison, the 'Hanoi Hilton'.

Halong Bay

Before a final night in Hanoi (or an onwards journey to Sapa, if you're opting to include a Chapa Train experience as part of your itinerary), you’ll spend a night sailing on a luxurious cruise. Staying in an exceptionally smart cabin, you’ll spend two days on emerald-green waters, passing the jagged limestone islands and dramatic caves of Halong Bay alongside the floating villages.

Sapa (optional)

The emerald-green jewel of north-west Vietnam, Sapa is a wonderland of mist-shrouded valleys, undulating hills and staggered rice terraces. It’s paradise for hikers, with highlights including the Silver Waterfall, Ham Rong Mountain and the Moung Hoa Valley. After a scenic and charming sleeper train journey, you'll arrive here to spend three nights amidst lush mountain landscapes, in a five-star resort with modern spa and luxurious facilities.

Hoi An

This stunning stop is best known as Vietnam’s most historic city, an amalgamation of influences thanks to its role as one of the country’s most prolific ports for many years. Architectural feats are at their most fascinating here, and include the ornate 18th-century Japanese Bridge, the opulent Phuc Kien Assembly Hall built by Chinese traders in the 1600s, and the Old Town, where twinkling lights and lanterns hang from colourful old houses. Outside the city, the incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site, My Son, awaits in the jungle.

Ho Chi Minh City

Lastly, you'll travel to Ho Chi Minh City. From your hotel's central location, discover colonial landmarks such as the 19th-century Central Post Office and the awe-inspiring Notre Dame Cathedral, made entirely of materials imported from France. Delve into the country’s fascinating history, influences of which can be seen in the tantalising local food around every corner.

Flights are included from London Heathrow to Hanoi, Vietnam, returning from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

A 5kg hand luggage and 20kg hold luggage allowance per person is included, as well as internal flights and private transfers apart from Hanoi to Halong Bay which are shared.

Please note that baggage weight and size restrictions may vary between airlines, please check airline terms and conditions.

From London Heathrow to Hanoi, Vietnam, with Vietnam airlines:
- Outbound: Departing at 17.05, arriving at 11.00 (following day)

Internal flight from Hanoi to Danang:
- Departing between 18.00 and 18.40, arriving between 19.30 and 20.10

Internal flight from Danang to Ho Chi Minh City:
- Departing at 14.35, arriving at 16.20

From Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to London Heathrow with Vietnam airlines:
- Inbound: Departing at 07.10, arriving at 14.45

Please note that your outbound flight is overnight, so please bear this in mind when planning the time you'll be away. The date you select as your check-in date will be the day you'll fly out from the UK, and you'll arrive in Hanoi the following day to commence your 10, 12 or 15 night holiday. Therefore, you'll be away for a total of 11, 13 or 16 nights.
