Fall in love with Paris before exploring France's rich history across the Loire, Normandy and Caen, including excursions & travel

Day 1 - 2: UK/Ireland - Paris

After your flight to Paris, you can make your way to your hotel. Take your time to explore the city's iconic tourist sights, take in the local culture and indulge in some delicious Parisian cuisine. The next morning you'll discover the city’s picture-perfect attractions and monuments on a half day sightseeing tour by bus with a professional English-speaking guide. Along the way, you'll have the chance to take in the Place Vendôme Square, Place de l’Opera, the Pantheon, Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. Your tour ends in the city centre, where you can grab a bite to eat in one of the many cafés or enjoy some retail therapy in some of the city's top boutiques and department stores, before spending the rest of the day however you like.

Day 3: Paris - Orleans - Chambord - Tours

After breakfast, you'll meet your English-speaking guide and depart Paris by coach towards the Loire Valley and its historic gems. On the way, you'll stop at the capital of the Centre-Val de Loire region, Orleans, a city renowned for its ties to Joan of Arc. You'll have time to explore the city on your own - don't miss the 13th century Sainte-Croix Cathedral and the Musée des Beaux-Arts, home to around 700 artworks. After lunch, your tour continues with an included visit to the Chambord Estate, a beautiful example of French Renaissance architecture, with time to explore the historic heart of the castle and its gardens. After your visit, you'll head to the city of Tours.

Day 4: Tours - Chenonceau - Tours

Today brings you to the illustrious castle of Chenonceau, a two-story building that stands upon a graceful arched bridge over the Cher River, creating the illusion of floating on water. Also known as "The Ladies’ Castle", it was initially constructed in 1513, and along with impressive interiors, the Château's Renaissance French Gardens, adorned with decorative pools and flower beds, are a serene and beautiful place to visit. In the afternoon, you'll also visit the Royal Château of Amboise, one of the Loire Valley most distinctive constructions. Built over the river, with landscaped gardens stretching from the earth to the sky, the palace gives you one of the most remarkable panoramic views over the Loire.

Day 5: Tours - Mont Saint Michel

After breakfast, you'll leave Tours for the world-renowned Mont Saint Michel, a captivating UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll first stop at Place des Navettes, where shuttle buses known as Passeurs transfer you to the mount itself. The Mount was consecrated to Saint Michel in the year 708, and the awe-inspiring surroundings of the mediaeval Benedictine Abbey, along with the village built shadow of the fortifications, take you centuries' back in time.

Day 6: Mont Saint Michel - Day beaches tour - Caen

As the location for some of the most important events during Word War Two, this part of France is home to several significant sights. Today you'll have the opportunity to learn more, as you visit Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and Colleville-SurMer Cemetery, the resting place for many of the Allied Forces who lost their lives here. You'll also visit the Memorial de Caen, a museum and war memorial commemorating World War II and the Battle for Caen. Dedicated to the history of the twentieth century, the museum focuses on the fragility and importance of peace.

Day 7: Caen - Honfleur - Paris

It's time to dive into one of the most famous exports of this region of France - its mouthwatering food and drink. Starting with a visit to the Village du Fromager, you'll see the various stages of cheese production and of course, enjoy sampling the different types of cheese on offer. After the visit, head to Honfleur for a lunch break. This small city and harbour dates back to the Vikings' invasion in the 11th century, where you'll have time to explore before you head back to Paris.

Day 8: Paris - UK/Ireland

After a week packed with history, culture, natural beauty and more, it's time to head to the airport for your journey home.
