How to get there
The hotel is situated roughly a half hour's drive from Switzerland's Lugano airport, or an hour and twenty minutes from Milan Malpensa airport. Either way, we recommend that you hire a car in order to make your journey smoother and so you can explore the spectacular landscapes around the hotel and the lake.

Relais Villa Porta sits in a tranquil location on the eastern shores of Lake Maggiore, a couple of kilometres north of Luino, a small town with a renowned local market on Wednesdays. From here, regular ferryboats shuttle across to other towns on the lake. Most hotels around Lake Maggiore are located on the western shore, making this place feel more isolated and secluded than the rest. About 27 kilometres south is the beautiful 12th-century cliffside monastery of Santa Caterina del Sasso, home to a small community of Benedictine monks.
