Your first destination is the charming coastal city of La Rochelle, on France's west coast. Looking out over the Atlantic, La Rochelle is a quintessential maritime city, with bustling ports, peaceful beaches, a lively marina and a wealth of oceanic history, with the impressive ruins of the city's original mediaeval towers. Enjoy the sea breeze on a walk along the coastal path, or head into the local restaurants where you'll find the region's excellent seafood, including oysters, shellfish and a variety of fish.
Day 4: Bilbao, Spain
A stunning gem amongst Spain's Basque Country, Bilbao is framed by rolling hills and lush greenery on one side, and spectacular cliffs and beaches on the other. And in the midst of it all, this waterfront city is home to a diverse mix of culture, from unforgettable Basque cuisine to iconic architecture, including the shimmering Guggenheim Museum.
Day 5: A Coruña, Spain
Head down the Spanish coast to enjoy the good life in A Coruña, an historic Spanish fishing town and port in the Galicia region. Filled with picturesque squares, beautiful architecture and mediaeval churches, A Coruña is an ideal place to take in the views of the Atlantic ocean while soaking up the cinematic backdrop of the city around you.
Day 6: At sea
Day 7: Cherbourg, France
End your cruise in style in Normandy's renowned port city, Cherbourg, home to glamorous yacht races, fascinating art and history museums and the captivating Basilica of the Holy Trinity. Being in Normandy, food and drink are of course an essential part of the city's culture here, including a delicious array of cheeses, galettes and locally brewed ciders and beers.
The next morning you'll head back to Southampton, and make your way home.
