Vila Nova de Gaia
Across the Douro River from Porto in the neighbouring city of Vila Nova de Gaia, the property is located in one of the city’s most famous historic buildings right on the edge of the water. Enjoy the views of Porto’s downtown area, which can be reached in a 20-minute walk over the iconic Dom Luís I bridge. Cross the bridge to head into Porto proper – the downtown area is just 20 minutes’ walk away, where you can navigate the muddled streets on foot and sample (you guessed it) more Port wine in the city’s backstreet bars. This part of Portugal is famous for its many ancient Port wine cellars.
