How to get there
Stuttgart Airport is a 40-minute drive from the hotel. If coming by train, get on the S2 S-Bahn line towards Schorndorf at the airport's Flughafen/Messe station. Get off four stops later at Rohr and change onto the S1 line towards Herrenberg for two stops. Alight at Böblingen and change onto the RB14 train to Gäufelden station. From here's it's a 10-minute walk to the station. The whole journey via train from the airport takes around an hour.

Please note that the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings and public holidays.

Gäufelden
Skip south from Stuttgart to Gäufelden - a town between the northeastern edge of Germany's Black Forest and the Swabian Alps - for elite recharging of body and mind in bucolic surrounds. From Freudenstadt (45 minutes from the hotel), drive along the Black Forest Highway, the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse, up to the famous gilded spa town of Baden-Baden for one-stop-shop scenery of the mysterious Black Forest, drinking in fairy-tale meadows, lakes, woodland and timber farmhouses as you go.
For outdoorsy activities closer to home, Naturpark Schönbuch nature reserve is a 40-minute drive east of the hotel and blanketed with hiking and biking trails between beech and oak trees. For a slice of culture, drive 45 south of the hotel to gawp at the magnificent turreted Burg Hohenzollern castle crowning a hill. Alternatively, wander around Stuttgart's sights, from landmark-sprinkled Schlossgarten park to cutting-edge Staatsgalerie Stuttgart that puts on major art exhibitions.
