How to get there
There are two airports in Tenerife, Tenerife South and Tenerife North. The closest is Tenerife North, 30 kilometres away and easily reachable by taxi, hire car or the Line 343 bus. If you’re coming via bus, you’ll need to walk or catch a taxi from Puerto de la Cruz.
The journey from Tenerife South Airport is longer, around 95 kilometres. You’re best getting a taxi or hiring a car from here.

You’ll be staying in Puerto de la Cruz, the laid-back town on Tenerife’s north coast that’s most famous for its volcanic black sands, banana plantations, quaint harbour and pretty old town. Must-dos include marvelling at 5,000 exotic trees and plants at the superb Botanico Gardens at La Paz and taking the cable car to the summit of Mount Teide – Spain’s highest mountain at 3,718 metres.
It’s also well worth visiting the cosmopolitan capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife for its quirky boutiques, brightly-painted buildings, inspiring art galleries, and Sunday’s huge flea market. Precise Resort Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife is 59 miles from Tenerife-South airport – the larger of the island’s two international airports.
