Day 1: Lima
Arrive at your departure airport and hop aboard a flight to the capital of Peru. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring.
Day 2: Lima
Take an informative and interesting city tour of Lima today. Start off by exploring the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, before heading to the historic centre to visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo and the Plaza de Armas. Stop in Parque de Amor, where you can soak up views of the Peruvian coastline.
Day 3: Lima - Cusco - Sacred Valley
Hop aboard a flight to Cusco today, the former Inca capital, and transfer to the Sacred Valley - spend your day at leisure exploring this famous area, packed full of spectacular scenery and intriguing folklore and legends.
Day 4: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Sacred Valley
An exciting day awaits today - board the Expedition Train and head to the iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu, one of the true wonders of the world. Spend some time discovering the ruins, and enjoy a tour of the different sections of the ancient site. Then, jump aboard the train back to the Sacred Valley (you can upgrade your train rides to Aguas Calientes, should you wish).
Day 5: Sacred Valley - Cusco
Set off towards Cusco this morning and opt to enjoy a Sacred Valley excursion along the way. The excursion includes a visit to the church of Chinchero, the panoramic Racchi viewpoint with its fantastic valley views, and Ollantaytambo with its Inca fortress.
Day 6: Cusco
Enjoy a fascinating half-day tour of Cusco, exploring the lively plazas of this historic city, including the Plaza de Armas, the San Blas District and the Korikancha (Sun Temple). Spend the rest of your day at leisure, perhaps soaking up the local atmosphere and sampling local cuisine.
Day 7: Cusco - Puno
Today, jump aboard the bus to Puno and enjoy the incredible landscapes of the South Valley along the way. Discover the 17th-century church of Andahuaylas, featuring an impressive organ, as well as the ruins of Racqui. Later on, enjoy the views from La Raya (the highest point on the highway between Cusco and Puno) and visit the historic town of Pucara. Then, check-in to your hotel in Puno, situated close to Lake Titicaca.
Day 8: Puno
Set off today on an unforgettable excursion to the islands of Lake Titicaca. First stop is Taquile Island, which dates back to pre-Inca times and is famous for its weaving, knitting and textiles. Next up, visit the community of Huayallano (on the same island) where the locals show off their traditional crafts and agriculture. After a traditional lunch, visit the famous floating island of Uros, situated right in the centre of the lake.
Day 9: Puno - Lima
Say goodbye to the Andean highlands as you transfer to Juliaca airport for a flight back to Lima. Arrive in Lima, and spend your last night in Peru soaking up the ambience of the city's plazas, as well as the cool sea breeze of its picturesque coastline.
Day 10: Lima - UK
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.
