Day 1: UK - Colombo, Sri Lanka
Welcome to Sri Lanka! After boarding your overnight flight in the UK, you'll touch down in Colombo to be greeted by a representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel. From there, you'll have a chance to relax before partaking in a tour of the city's bustling sights. Visit the Dutch colonial-era Wolvendaal Church, a Hindu church and the Gangaramaya Temple, located on the scenic Beira Lake. You'll pass by designer shopping malls, landscaped gardens and more iconic attractions as you go. Then, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Colombo - Dambulla
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and make tracks for your next destination: Dambulla. En route, you'll stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, for a chance to meet these gentle giants up close. Check into your hotel and relax for an overnight stay.
Come evening, you'll have the option of joining a safari through Minneriya National Park (fees apply): sprawled across an impressive 8,890 hectares, this expansive landscape is home to elephants and leopards, as well as 24 species of mammals, 160 species of birds, and a beautiful array of butterflies, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
Day 3: Dambulla - Kandy
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer on to Kandy, visiting some incredible sights en route: you'll stop at the iconic UNESCO-listed Sigiriya Rock Fortress, before touring a spice garden and getting to know the flavours for which Sri Lanka is famous. Arrive at your hotel and check in, after which you'll join a tour of Kandy: visit a batik factory, a gemstone museum and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (locally known as Sri Dalada Maligawa). Transfer back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Kandy - Ella
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Ella, a wonderful destination nestled high in a mountainous area. Allow time to slow down for a while here, as you visit a tea plantation and board a train bound for Ella from the village of Nanuoya. You'll have the chance to marvel at the Nine Arches Bridge before checking into your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Ella - Galle
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and head to Galle, your final port of call in Sri Lanka. You'll stop at a turtle hatchery for a high enjoyable and educational experience, before checking into your hotel. Enjoy an evening walk around the historic Galle Fort on the scenic Bay of Galle, and return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Galle - Katunayake - Maldives, Indian Ocean
After breakfast, you'll check out of your hotel and transfer 155 kilometres from Galle to Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake. There you'll board your flight to Velana International Airport, and upon arrival in the Maldives, you'll be met by a representative for assistance with your seaplane transfer to your resort. Please note, this transfer is expected to take around 45 minutes. Upon your arrival, check in and prepare for four nights of blissed-out relaxation in luxurious, five-star style.
Days 7-9: Kuda Rah Island, Maldives
The next few days and nights will be spent making the most of your resort's stellar facilities, pristine white sands and secluded atmosphere - the levels of luxury at your Maldives hideout are unparalleled, and you'll have every chance to recline, relax, and reconnect with nature.
