-
Blissful Umbria retreat: Rising in an idyllic medieval complex at the heart of the sprawling Umbrian countryside, Borgo Pulciano is an utterly picturesque away-from-it-all escape. True to its name - ‘Borgo’ is Italian for ‘hamlet’ - this quiet bolthole exudes old-world rustic charm, from its picturesque stone houses and quaint cobbled lanes to delightful rooms and apartments, where original features blend seamlessly with cosy contemporary décor. And with apartments boasting modern amenities and fully-equipped kitchens, your stay will be as smooth as it is scenic.
-
Rich local flavours: An ode to Umbria’s ancient culinary heritage, you’ll love sauntering down to the intimate Hostaria dei Cavalieri for breakfast each morning, and returning for laid-back lunches, snacks and romantic dinners under its exposed timber beams and dreamy stone arches. In the warmer months, dine on the spectacular panoramic terrace, to savour hearty traditional fare over sweeping views as the leaves rustle in the soft country breeze.
-
Italian slow-living: While away your days dolce-vita style, lapping up the sun by the tranquil outdoor pools and slow-sipping cocktails as the sun sets over the hills. For something a little more invigorating, embrace the great outdoors with a refreshing walk along the resort’s nature trail, watching as the birds flit between the branches overhead and perhaps stopping to use the outdoor exercise equipment. And if you’re looking to get exploring, you’ll find Umbria’s world-famous cultural and natural highlights within easy reach.
How to get there
Located near Montone in the heart of the Umbrian countryside, Borgo Pulciano is about half an hour’s drive from Perugia’s San Francesco d’Assisi Airport, and we recommend hiring a car to explore your scenic surroundings at ease.
