Embrace an authentic escape in the little village of Piskopiano at a gorgeous new hotel not far from the sea - includes breakfast and optional dinner, plus an optional suite

  • Island retreat: Immerse yourself in all Crete has to offer at Hotel Pyriá, a dreamy escape on the island’s north coast. Head down to the beach to try your hand at any number of water sports, or turn your feet inland to discover Crete’s magnificent landscapes and archaeological marvels. If you fancy simply kicking back, you’re in the perfect spot; lounge in the shade of an olive tree by one of the hotel’s two main pools, or enjoy a soothing soak in the bubbling Jacuzzi, drink in hand.

  • Culinary heritage: Treat your tastebuds at the hotel’s tempting restaurant, where the flavours of Crete and the Mediterranean blend together with international influences to create mouthwatering culinary masterpieces. Tasty farm-to-table goodness awaits - expect local produce like Cretan olive oil, golden thyme honey, fresh seafood and seasonal fruits and vegetables. For daytime refreshments and evening tipples, the two bars have got you covered with handcrafted cocktails, artisanal beers and a selection of wines from the local vineyards.

  • Stunning and sustainable: With creamy colour palettes and a touch of rustic Cretan chic, the hotel’s interiors are nothing short of gorgeous. From the plush guest rooms through to the warm and welcoming shared spaces, Hotel Pyriá has nailed the combination of style and authenticity. And that’s not all they’re doing right - they’re committed to preserving their beautiful surroundings through sustainable practices like energy-efficiency, water conservation and community contribution.

Piskopiano

It might be just moments away from the bustling seaside town of Hersonissos, but in sleepy Piskopiano, everything’s still about that slower pace of life from times gone by. Heritage and tradition are highly valued here - and nothing more so than the ancient tradition of hospitality. You’ll be invited to explore the village’s rich cultural heritage with a stay here, through music, food and more. The village is also home to the Parlamas Museum of Rural Life, housed in a 19th-century, stone-built olive mill - here you can learn all about ancient practices that have endured the centuries, like weaving and wine making.

Of course, there’s plenty more to see beyond the village. Crete’s north coast offers a bounty of beautiful beaches, as well as towns brimming with shopping opportunities and vibrant nightlife. The capital of Heraklion is only a 20-minute drive away and well worth exploring; don’t miss the incredible, UNESCO-listed archaeological site just beyond its borders, the legendary Palace of Knossos.
