How to get there
The hotel is located in Paris’ 11th arrondissement, near the Saint-Ambroise and Rue Saint-Maur metro stations. From Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport it’s roughly a 40-minute drive, or around an hour on public transport. From Gare du Nord train station it’s a 20-minute drive, or 20 to 30 minutes on public transport.

With easy access to metro lines 2, 3 and 9, Paris is practically at your feet; of course you’ll want to hit all the top spots, but make time to explore some of the interesting neighbourhoods around your hotel, too. Start your day with a walk through the bohemian old village of Ménilmontant past hidden cafés, artists’ studios and the occasional neo-Gothic church before arriving at Père Lachaise Cemetery. The final resting place of icons like Oscar Wilde, Édith Piaf and Jim Morrison, this sprawling cemetery makes for thoughtful wandering as you stroll the quiet paths between ornate mausoleums and melancholic statues.
For something a little lighter, head south towards Le Marais, a district that’s absolutely brimming with trendy boutiques, art galleries, and tempting patisseries. Sit down for a cup of coffee and a macaron, or indulge in some window shopping before heading to Place des Vosges, a pretty, fountain-dotted square that’s the oldest planned square in Paris. As the day winds down, take a leisurely stroll along the Canal Saint-Martin. This is a perennial favourite of the locals, who like to perch on the benches and chat or potter along the banks with an ice cream in hand.
