Day 2: Johannesburg
Take in soaring skyscrapers and the iconic Hillbrow Tower as you touch down in Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city and the country’s bustling economic hub. After settling in at your hotel, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore at your leisure, drifting between the city’s vibrant neighbourhoods and cultural hotspots, and perhaps dipping your toe in Johannesburg’s notorious music and foodie scenes. To make the most of your time in South Africa, you can also opt to add a fun gastronomic or adventure experience to your trip: enjoy culinary excursions and meals in some of the country’s top restaurants, or a thrilling game drive, shark-cage dive and dune quad-biking experience.
Day 3: Johannesburg - Mpumalanga - Kruger National Park
Say goodbye to Joburg as you embark on a scenic drive to Mpumalanga, your gateway to the breathtaking landscapes of the Kruger National Park. The journey will take between seven and eight hours with stops along the way, and all you have to do is kick back and enjoy the view - you’ll be cruising down the iconic Panorama Route.
Days 4-5: Kruger National Park
Get ready for bucket-list thrills today, as you hop on a 4x4 vehicle for a full-day game drive in the Kruger National Park, one of the world’s largest and most incredible nature reserves. The early start will be more than worth it as you enjoy a stunning sunrise safari, and head to South Africa’s most famous game reserve, the iconic Southern Circle, to spot its renowned lions and rhinos. In the afternoon, take in more once-in-a-lifetime scenery and jaw-dropping wildlife, before rounding off the day with dinner and some well-deserved rest. The following day is yours to discover Kruger and White River at your leisure, perhaps with a guided bush walk or a birdwatching picnic. Hungry for more game-drive thrills? Opt for another full-day safari, where you can try to spot the legendary Big 5 on a slow drive through the world-famous ecosystems of the Kruger National Park.
Day 6: Kruger National Park - Johannesburg - Cape Town
It’s time to head back to the city today, so saddle up for another scenic transfer back to Johannesburg. On the way, you’ll stop to admire the exterior of Pretoria’s Union Buildings, the official headquarters of the South African government. Upon arrival, you’ll head to the airport to catch your flight to Cape Town, a picturesque city on the country’s southwestern tip.
is known for its stunning natural beauty, diverse cultures, and rich history. Arrive and transfer to your hotel for check in. Overnight stay in Cape Town.
Days 7-9: Cape Town
Known for its striking natural beauty, rich history and cultural diversity, Cape Town is a real gem waiting to be discovered, and today you’ll get to see it at your own pace with hop-on hop-off bus tour tickets. With over 30 stops to choose from, you can craft the city tour that works best for you, and see your favourite sights with maximum flexibility. Another unmissable highlight awaits in the afternoon, as you hop on the Cableway up to Table Mountain to see one Africa’s most breathtaking panoramas: the viewpoint affords sweeping vistas out over the city, coastline, and surrounding landscape.
Missed something out? No problem - you’ll have two more days to explore at your leisure, maybe dipping into one of the city’s many museums or strolling through the famous Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. While you’re here, you can also opt to add on two exciting excursions: one to the Winelands - the country’s renowned winemaking region where you’ll enjoy idyllic scenery, wine tastings and an exclusive cellar tour - and a full-day excursion to the Cape Peninsula, where highlights include the Twelve Apostles mountains, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, adorable penguin colonies and more.
Day 10: Cape Town - Victoria Falls
Bid farewell to Cape Town as you head to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls, the vast waterfalls named after Queen Victoria by the explorer David Livingstone. Transfer to your hotel and rest up after your travels, or take an optional Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River for unforgettable scenery as evening falls on this magical landscape.
Days 11-12: Victoria Falls
After breakfast, embark on a bucket-list visit to the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls, an awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site straddling Zimbabwe and Zambia on the south side of the Zambezi River. Take in the sheer magnitude of this natural wonder from different vantage points, and perhaps top it up with an optional ‘Flight of the Angels’ Helicopter Experience to see the majestic waterfalls from above. There’s also the option to take a guided tour of both sides of the Falls, where you can learn about local customs and traditions while getting up close to this natural spectacle.
The following day will be yours to spend as you wish, but should you want to get another bucket-list excursion in, we’ve got just the thing for you: a full-day safari and river cruise in the Chobe National Park. Boasting a sprawling 11,700 square kilometres ripe for exploration, Botswana’s oldest national park is known for having the highest population of African elephants still in their natural habitat, so be sure to keep an eye out for these majestic giants. Next, you’ll cruise down the Chobe River, spotting hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birds before enjoying lunch at a safari lodge.
