Delicious food: At breakfast enjoy a bountiful buffet spread, perfect for fuelling up before heading out to explore the picturesque Saxon countryside. Dinnertime at the buffet also brings classic local fare; complete the night with a relaxed drink at the bar, before retiring to your cosy room.
How to get there
The hotel is located in the Niederrathen district of Rathen. Access is easiest from the left side of the river (Oberrathen); you can reach the hotel in just a few minutes by ferry. Use of the ferry is included in your stay. When arriving by ferry, please inform the operator that you are checking in and show them your booking confirmation in order to use the service for free.
Dresden Airport is about an hour away by car. If you are driving, look for Station Rathen or Bahnhof Rathen in your navigation system. You will need to park on the Oberrathen side of the river as cars are only allowed on the Niederrathen side of the river by special permit.
You can also reach the hotel from Dresden’s central train station; a train to Kurort Rathen (Kr Pirna) will take just over half an hour, and from there it’s a short walk to the hotel. The train station is on the Oberrathen side of the river so you will also need to catch the ferry.

Rathen
Here in Saxony, scenery is the star of the show. The River Elbe meanders by, cutting through the middle of Rathen, a picturesque village made up of old timber-framed houses. Nearby you’ll find the imposing Bastei, the most famous rock formation in Saxony. An impressive stone bridge runs over and between the rocks, spanning a 40-metre ravine with its seven arches. This isn’t the only place to find breathtaking views, though; whether you’re scaling Rauenstein table hill, walking to pretty Amsel Falls or exploring Saxon Switzerland National Park, stunning vistas and spectacular sights will meet you at every turn.
If you’re looking for excitement further afield, hop on the train and in 35 minutes you can be in Dresden, a city brimming with art and architecture. You could even take a riverboat cruise to explore the city and beyond from the tides of the Elbe.
