Malinska
The picturesque island of Krk is Croatia’s largest and busiest, combining historic towns with diverse landscapes and panoramic vistas. The island’s northwestern coast is rocky and steep, with plenty of coves, beaches, forests and quaint fishing villages to explore – perfect for those outdoorsy types.
You’ll find plenty of scenic hiking and cycling trails around you, as well as several beaches from which to splash about in the warm waters of the Adriatic. For an extra dose of sun-kissed wellness, pay a visit to Meline Beach on Klimno Bay - basking in the mud here is said to have healing properties; the perfect accompaniment to a week of rest and relaxation. And if you’re after something a little more cultural, top up leisurely strolls through Malinska and Nijvice with a visit to the historic castle and cathedral in the island’s ancient capital of Krk, which also features an atmospheric bar inside its 2,000-year-old Roman catacombs.
