How to get there
Located in the village of Pomer, close to Medulin on Croatia’s northern Pula peninsula, Arena One 99 Glamping is an easy 16-minute drive or taxi ride from Pula Airport, or about an hour and a half’s drive from Rijeka International Airport.
Entry requirements
The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.
Pomer
Surrounded by the fragrant pine trees just a stone’s throw from the pretty pebbly shores of Pomer Beach, you won’t have to look far for back-to-nature bliss here. Nearby Šćuza Beach is an utterly idyllic spot and great for families with small children, while nearby Medulin boasts a selection of fabulous beaches like Bijeca Beach, the area’s only sandy stretch. Pula itself is less than 20 minutes’ drive away, and is a must-see gem on Croatia’s Istrian peninsula. The city’s most iconic sight is the Pula Arena, a vast 2,000-year-old amphitheatre only rivalled by Rome’s own Colosseum, while other highlights include the Arch of the Sergii, the Temple of Augustus, and a sprinkling of churches and fortresses dating from the 14th to the 18th centuries.
For something a little different, discover the area’s hiking trails and coastal walks, or drive north to the Učka Nature Park to walk through magical mountain landscapes with sweeping panoramic views. Or perhaps you’d like to take a road-trip up the coast? Start in Savudrija on the peninsula’s northwestern tip, and make your way south passing by beautiful Novigrad, the Byzantine churches of Porec, and Rovinj’s pastel-coloured houses that seem to rise out of the sea.
