A homely feeling: In the pretty seaside town of Llandudno, in the northernmost part of Wales, Dunoon Hotel is a thoroughly British abode with buckets of charm. You’ll be in good hands when staying at this Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice hotel, which also picked up the top award for best hotel in North Wales in 2018. Rooms are elegant and stylish, with Hypnos mattresses, while the newly refurbished bathrooms are complete with Molton Brown toiletries, providing just the right level of understated luxury.

Award-winning cuisine: The restaurant’s passion for high quality food has earned it two highly coveted AA Rosettes. There's an emphasis on great flavours and locally sourced fresh ingredients - think herb crusted fillet of cod with spinach purée and crushed potato, tempura Conwy mussels and a lemon butter sauce, or roasted leg of Conwy valley lamb with parsnip purée, dauphinoise potatoes, shredded sprouts and minted gravy. The eclectic wine list promises the perfect pairing for all dishes, or perhaps you'd rather a local craft beer, gin or whiskey in the Club Bar?

Stunning scenery: Llandudno North Shore Beach is a long sweeping crescent, with a wide promenade that lies at the foot of the impressive limestone outcrop known as the Great Orme. For a quieter but no less impressive option, West Shore Beach, with its sandy shores, glorious sunsets, and kite surfers, is a short walk in the opposite direction. If you’d prefer some rugged outdoor exploration, you’re only a 15-minute drive from the north of Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park.
How to get there
Dunoon Hotel is in the seaside town of Llandudno, Wales. The town is just off the A470 and is only a mile away from Llandudno Train Station – a four-minute drive or 15-minute walk. There is street parking available outside the hotel.
Good to know
Given the restaurant's popularity with guests and the general public alike, it's recommended that you pre-book a table.
Entry requirements
The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.
Llandudno
A town that’s been largely unchanged for a century, Llandudno is a truly classic British seaside town that has everything from Wales’ longest pier, Punch and Judy on the promenade, and even donkey rides on the beach – you’re honestly only a black and white photo and straw boater away from a Victorian summer holiday.
Alice Pleasance Liddell, the little girl who inspired Lewis Carroll’s Alice, used to holiday in Llandudno as a child, and as such, you can follow the White Rabbit’s bronze footprints around the town on your very own Alice Trail. There’s also an old school cable car in the town; when it was built in 1969, it was the longest passenger cable car system in Britain. Today you can take in striking views of the town and Snowdonia (Eryri), as you silently glide from Happy Valley to the summit of the Great Orme, 679 feet up.
