Charming Cotswolds stay:The Ormond at Tetbury is a cosy former 17th-century coaching inn. Now offering boutique lodgings and scrumptious award-winning dining, the property was once used as a telephone and postal station during the First World War – and while this hotel has changed a lot over the years, it has always retained its historic character.

Cosy and calm:The 21-room hotel has buckets of charm and interesting touches, with each room carefully designed, completely unique and filled with historical touches. Superior rooms offer a sizeable shower room, alongside sleek, decorative touches for a comfortable night's stay.

Country fare:Offering a hearty selection of classic pub and à la carte dishes, the hotel's bistro restaurant makes use of local, seasonal produce where possible. Options include the likes of slow-roasted lamb shank with creamy dauphinoise potatoes, paprika and honey-roasted chicken and juicy burgers. You can also expect excellent breakfasts, fabulous pizzas and a cosy pub atmosphere to enjoy a drink by the fire.
How to get there
The hotel sits in the charming town of Tetbury, in the heart of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. Due to the countryside location of the hotel, we'd recommend hiring a car so you can travel at your own ease and leisure. There's no parking at the hotel, but car parks are available locally.

With its location in the Cotswolds, The Ormond at Tetbury is the perfect base to explore the surrounding Cotswold countryside, but if you don't feel like exploring, you’ll find enough in Tetbury itself to keep you busy and have a relaxing weekend away, like historic inns, great restaurants, independent boutiques and country walks.
For jaunts further afield, Bristol and Bath are both just half an hour away by car, while Castle Combe (named the prettiest village in the Cotswolds) is only a 20-minute drive from the hotel, and Westonbirt Areboretum is under 10 minutes away.
