How to get there
Traumhotel Alpina is situated in the resort of Gerlos in the Zillertal area, on the border of Salzburg and Tyrol in Austria. The nearest airports are in Innsbruck (84 kilometres) and Salzburg (181 kilometres). If you’re driving, you’ll need to take the 165 road between Zell am Ziller and Mittersill.

Gerlos
A remote setting straddling the provinces of Salzburg and Tyrol, Gerlos is a peaceful alpine hamlet surrounded by ski slopes and hiking trails at an altitude of 1300 metres. During the winter, the prime interest is skiing, and not unreasonably so: the area is vast, stretching all the way from Zell am Ziller to Hochkrimml on the opposite side of the Gerlos Pass. In summer, the location is also perfect for hiking and mountain biking.
The area is connected by an efficient lift system with the hotel located just 100 metres from the Isskogelbahn station, so even on a longer stay you’re unlikely to exhaust all the options. For more information on getting out and about on the slopes visit the area's interactive map here.
