The town has a sparkling white 15th century church, along with an aquarium and a quirky little town museum. However, the area’s real draws are its clean air, temperate climate and dependable sunshine - it gets more than 2,500 hours of sun every year, perfect for topping up that tan on Crikvenica's beaches.
Crikvenica is well connected; 35 kilometres from the city of Rijeka and just over the water from the island of Krk, meaning travel time won’t be a problem. However, being active is strictly optional - in this sleepy seaside town, all you really need to focus on is worshipping the sun, enjoying a drop of local wine on the hotel terrace, and taking in the dramatic coastal views.
