Caernarfon
Caernarfonshire is a particularly beautiful part of the world, and Caernarfon occupies a prime position in the area's postcard-perfect landscapes - between Snowdonia's breathtaking mountainscapes and the crashing coastline. Its historic castle is a listed UNESCO World Heritage site and well worth a visit while you're here.
Outdoors-enthusiasts might want to take the opportunity to ascend Mount Snowdon itself, whilst the Caernarfon railway offers memorable steam train trips through the scenery. Head to Sygun Copper Mine for a peek into the area's industrial history or visit Electric Mountain for a look into North Wales' industrial present and future.
