Escape to an 18th-century hotel with an award-winning restaurant, near the Blackdown Hills in the Somerset countryside, including breakfast and dining discount.

  • Idyllic countryside setting: Thanks to its Somerset location in the heart of cider country and its taste for only the best local produce, the family owners behind The Lordleaze Hotel collect awards like they collect empty plates from satisfied diners. After almost two decades at the helm, these include a three-star rating and a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice 2021 award.

  • Award-winning dining: Head Chef Joe has crafted a regionally focused menu that uses only the finest local ingredients. Satisfying suppers bring together gastropub classics in a cosy setting overlooking the garden, with a selection of wines to complement all flavours. Afternoon tea here is a treat, while lighter bar meals can also be enjoyed alongside a glass of cider – you're in the heart of cider country, after all. No wonder the restaurant won a Taste of The West Gold Award.

  • Classic-meets-contemporary comforts: Traditional furniture and creamy hues help give this 18th-century farmhouse its comfortable, country house charm. The family owners continue the attention-to-detail they’ve earned a reputation for right through the 23 bedrooms, which feature everything you could need for a feel-good, homely stay, from plush beds, linens and furnishings to en-suite bathrooms with luxurious toiletries.

How to get there
The hotel is located in the Somerset town of Chard. It lies on the A30 road near the Devon and Dorset borders, 15 miles south west of Yeovil. Direct trains are available from London Waterloo to Axminster Rail Station, which is then under a 20-minute car ride to straight to the hotel.
