Stay and play: The hotel’s 365-acre estate is perfect for exploring on foot, and there are two bracing walks through stunning wooded paths that you can try. When you’ve finished, head to the gatehouse for an indulgent spa treatment, from facials and massages to wraps and manicures. Golf is also one of the main draws here, with two courses including a Championship course and a separate 10-hole course for quick games. The estate also has a driving range and pro shop.

How to get there
Murrayshall Country Estate is 15 minutes’ drive from Perth, in central Scotland. If you’re flying, Dundee Airport is 30 minutes away, while Edinburgh and Glasgow are 50 and 90 minutes respectively. Perth has a train station which links to all the major cities in Scotland and the North of England. The hotel has extensive parking if you’re driving yourself here.
Entry requirements

Perth and Kinross
Murrayshall is perfectly situated for exploring picturesque Perthshire, enveloped by the hilly landscape which is best explored on foot or by bike – the hotel offers guided walks or you can head off on your own, and there are bikes available to hire. There’s a massive amount to do on site, with a choice of different activities to sign up for like archery or zooming around on a quad bike, and the hotel can also arrange for you to head off-site to do paddle boarding or kayaking on the river Tay, where you might spot kingfishers, otters or herons. If you prefer more sedate pastimes, there’s whiskey tasting at Lindores Abbey and Glenturret distilleries. You can also head out further afield to explore the wild scenery of the Cairngorms National Park, about an hour to the north.
