How to get there
Royal & Imperial Belvedere Resort is located in Hersonissos, on Crete's northern coastline. It's a half-hour drive (26 kilometres) from Heraklion Airport and around two hours, 30 minutes from Chania’s international airport.
Entry requirements
The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.
Crete
While you may find it hard to leave the plentiful attractions of the resort, this upmarket corner of Crete has plenty of outside distractions. Just 500 metres from the resort, accessible on foot, Chrysi Ammos Beach sparkles with the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea, which lap at soft sandy shores. Park up on a rented sunlounger or dip your toes into the gentle waves for a refreshing dip. Elsewhere, there are a huge range of attractions within easy driving distance: hire a car and visit the capital of Heraklion, to learn about the island’s chequered history in its crumbling churches and archaeological museums – it’s got a great nightlife scene, too. Otherwise, head to Knossos Palace to tour the ruins, take a boat trip out to the island of Spinalonga, find a deserted beach for a swim or head inland to hike Spathi’s limestone trails.
