Island unwinding: Open daily, the spa has a sauna (set between 80°C and 90°C), infrared cabin, bio sauna, steam bath, and outdoor area with wooden deck and small sunbathing lawn. There are also private rooms for a wealth of feel-good massages (chargeable; pre-booking advised). For sporty types, bicycle rental (Dutch bikes or city e-bikes) can be arranged on request.

Saintly sleeps: Finished to a high spec, the 25-metre-squared Comfort rooms are on the ground floor and the much larger two-storey Suites overlook Lake Constance, the Hegau volcanoes or across to Switzerland. Expect a covered, furnished balcony, seating area, hairdryer, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi access. The open-plan bathroom has a shower, vanity mirror, and heated towel rail.
How to get there
The hotel is just under two hours' drive south from Stuttgart International Airport (around four hours via public transport) and around an hour north from Zurich International Airport (around two hours via public transport), in Switzerland.

Reichenau
You’ll be staying on the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Reichenau Island in southern Germany’s Lake Constance. Aside from visiting the nearby Reichenau Monastery, Mettnau Peninsula, and Nature Reserve Mettnau, be sure to spend time in Konstanz - the university city best known for its amazingly preserved medieval buildings. Highlights here include walking through the quiet cobblestone alleys that extend all the way to the River Rhine and also admiring the frescoed 15th-century Hohenzollernhaus, the 16th-century Rathaus (City Hall), and the Haus zum Rosgarten (formerly a medieval butchers' guild and now a museum).
