A Victorian grand dame on the English Riviera - includes breakfast, a welcome drink, and parking for one car

  • Location, location, location: The location of The Imperial Torquay is pretty perfect; resembling a Mediterranean-style hotel, you'll be perched high on the cliffs, looking out over the English Riviera and the yachts coming and going in the bay of Torbay.

  • Rest and relaxation: You’ll get to enjoy a wide selection of rejuvenating health and beauty treatments including facials, manicures and pedicures, body wraps, waxes, tints and massages to really pamper yourself silly. You'll also find a sauna and steam room, gym, Jacuzzi, and solarium for that little extra bliss.

  • Wine and dine: You can relax over a drink and light bite in the Palm Court Lounge & Bar, and tuck into a three-course dinner in the restaurant - all with a side of sweeping views over the bay. Breakfast is a tempting affair too, featuring eggs royale and a full English as options.

How to get there

The nearest airport to the hotel is Exeter International, a 35 kilometre drive away. We’d recommend hiring a car, though you can get a bus and change in Exeter.

Torquay train station is less than a mile away. Trains run regularly to and from London Paddington and Plymouth. You can either walk from here or hop in a taxi.
Good to know

Please ensure you pre-book dinner and any spa treatments prior to arrival, to avoid disappointment. Please be aware that while the indoor pool is open year-round, the outdoor pool is closed during the winter months.

There’s one disabled access room and access to most facilities via ramps or lifts.

Entry requirements

The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.

Exmouth

The English Riviera boasts a beautiful seafront promenade - the profusion of palm trees attesting to the region's lovely microclimate. Pleasant little cafés, restaurants, pubs and bars abound in Torbay, alongside beaches and coves. There are 19 in the area and they're routinely judged to be some of the best in the country.

In Torquay itself, you’ve got plenty to see and do. For a bird’s eye view, hop aboard the English Riviera Wheel, a 60-metre-tall ferris wheel offering panoramic views over the town and harbour. History buffs should check out the Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, one of Europe's top prehistoric Stone Age caves, or Compton Castle, dating back to 1340.

If you’re coming with the kids, Babbacombe Model Village is always a favourite haunt. Nature lovers should add Berry Head Nature Reserve to their list. It’s home to the largest population of guillemots on the southern coast and also features Napoleonic fortifications.
