Embark on a thrilling snowmobile adventure in the Arctic wilderness of Finnmarksvidda. Explore Europe's largest mountain plateau and experience the magic of winter, culminating in the awe-inspiring sight of the Northern Lights - if you're lucky. For those booking a four-night trip during the autumn period, prepare instead to hunt these beautiful lights down by car or minivan!
• Short snowshoe hike or fjord and whale safari in an open RIB boat: day 3•
Embark on a guided snowshoe hike and discover a quiet, winter landscape. Follow your guide through silent, snow-covered trails, experiencing the hushed beauty of frosted trees and pristine wilderness. This trek offers a unique way to connect with nature, providing fresh air and breathtaking views that are yours to explore.
If you book a four-night trip during the autumn period, you'll instead embark on a thrilling fjord and whale safari in an open RIB boat. Visit Finnmark in hopes of witnessing humpbacks and killer whales along with various other wildlife. The starting point is determined by where the whales are located, which could mean a comfortable 1-2 hour car ride.

Embark on a thrilling dog sledding adventure. After a brief introduction, you'll take the reins of your own husky team. Glide through the picturesque pine forest and onto the stunning Finnmarksvidda plateau. Breathe in the crisp, fresh air before warming up with hot beverages at a cosy mountain lodge. There, an experienced guide will share the fascinating history of dog sledding.
• Fjord and whale-watching adventure: day 4 (four-night itinerary); day 4 or 5 (five-night itinerary) •
Witness the majestic whales of Norway's beautiful fjords. As they come to feed on herring, you'll have the unique opportunity to observe these giants up close. Experience the breathtaking beauty of the fjords while the boat's engine is turned off to minimise disturbance. Keep your eyes peeled for curious humpback whales and orcas approaching the boat.
• Snowmobile and ice fishing adventure: day 4 (four-night itinerary); day 4 or 5 (five-night itinerary) •
Combine the excitement of snowmobiling with the tranquillity of ice fishing. Your journey begins with a snowmobile ride across snow-covered forests and onto Europe's largest mountain plateau, where you'll keep an eye out for Arctic wildlife. Driving in pairs, you'll reach a secluded ice fishing spot. Here, with guidance from experts, you'll learn to fish beneath the frozen surface. If you're lucky, you might even get to cook and taste freshly caught trout or char right on the ice. You'll also get to hear insights into the region's ecology and history.
• Northern Lights dog sledding in Alta: day 4 (four-night itinerary); day 4 or 5 (five-night itinerary)•
Experience the thrill of dog sledding in Alta. After a 30-minute transfer from Alta to Gargia, you'll receive warm clothing and a comprehensive training session from our expert guides. Then, take control of your own husky team, driving in pairs and swapping places halfway through the journey. You'll glide through silent pine forests and across the vast Finnmarksvidda plateau, with the chance to see the mesmerizing Northern Lights overhead. After about 60 minutes of mushing, return to the historic Gargia mountain lodge for a warm drink and captivating stories about dog sledding and the region's history.
• King Crab boat safari: day 4 (four-night itinerary until November only) •
Join an unforgettable RIB boat safari on the Altafjord for a close-up encounter with the legendary king crab. Speed across Arctic waters, surrounded by dramatic coastlines and windswept tundra. Along the way, expert guides will share stories of the region's rich history, including the ancient Alta rock carvings. At our harbour, you'll meet the stars of the tour in the aquarium and learn about their vital role in the local fishing industry before getting a chance to taste the delicious king crab meat. This tour combines natural beauty, cultural heritage, and unforgettable flavour in one exhilarating experience.
