How to get there
Coastal & Country Retreats’ cottages are in the Northumberland village of Beadnell, about 50 miles north of Newcastle. It takes roughly an hour to drive to the cottages from Newcastle International Airport. There are parking spaces available nearby.
Good to know
Please note that not every cottage has a working fireplace or garden. If you would like one, please check when booking. Please also note that the two cottage locations - Seahouses and Beadnell - are about four minutes, or 1.8 miles apart from each other.
Entry requirements
The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.
Morpeth
Beadnell Bay is one of the finest places in the area for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Boards and Bikes rent equipment like surfboards, wetsuits and bikes, delivering them to your door, so you too can get the thrill of the waves. Northside Surf School are also on hand to show you the ropes, operating from several beaches in the area, including Beadnell Bay.
Many miles of glorious coastal walking routes are at your feet in Beadnell. A local favourite starts out south from Beadnell along the sand dunes and on to the village of Low Newton, where you can stop in at the Ship Inn for a perfect halfway pint, and maybe a spot of lunch.
In Beadnell you can find The Craster Arms, a pub that dates back to the 15th century. In the summer it's the venue for the annual music event, Crastonbury, where live music and merriment starts in the afternoon and carries on until midnight.
