Please note, depending on your selected departure airport, you will either fly into Zürich or Geneva for the first part of your stay. The itinerary below is based on a four-night stay. A seven-night stay will include an extra night in either Zürich or Geneva, as well as an additional night in Lucerne and Interlaken.
Day 1: Zürich or Geneva
Begin your journey in the sophisticated city of Zürich or the cosmopolitan hub of Geneva. Immerse yourself in the Swiss charm of these vibrant cities, exploring their historic centres, world-class museums, and stunning lakeside promenades. Whether you're following the smell of chocolate through Zürich's colourful Old Town or admiring the iconic Jet d'Eau fountain in Geneva, you'll be enchanted by the beauty and elegance of these timeless Swiss gems.
Day 2: Zürich or Geneva - Lucerne
Embark on a scenic Swiss train journey from Zürich or Geneva to Lucerne. Often referred to as the 'essence of Switzerland', this picturesque, lakeside city provides a captivating blend of medieval charm and natural beauty. Wander through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, admire the 14th-century Chapel Bridge which spans the Reuss River, or float across the lake by boat. For a unique experience, visit the Lion Monument to see the poignant tribute towards the Swiss Guards who died defending the Tuileries Palace during the French Revolution.
Day 3: Lucerne - Interlaken (via Interlaken Express)
Embark on a breathtaking train journey to Interlaken via the Interlaken Express, and prepare to immerse yourself in a fairy-tale town nestled between the stunning lakes of Thun and Brienz. Once arrived, set off on a thrilling cable car ride up to Grindelwald First, where panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains await. Day 4: Interlaken
Prepare for the highlight of your Swiss adventure - a journey along the legendary Jungfrau Railway to Europe's highest railway station. Ascend to the 'Top of Europe', a breathtaking saddleback nestled between the Jungfrau and Mönch peaks at a staggering 3,454 metres above sea level. Witness a world sculpted by glaciers, with panoramic views stretching as far as France, covering endless snowfields, jagged peaks, and the Aletsch Glacier - the longest glacier in Europe.
