Your journey begins in Stockholm, the Swedish capital famous for its characterful islands, relaxed vibe and bevy of unique museums. From there it’s on to Oslo, where art, history and sauna culture thrive, then you’ll be setting out for the fjords of Aurland. In this bucket-list destination, you’ll stay in a charming village surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. Silent Oslofjord cruise (Day 4)
Set sail on a breathtaking cruise of the Oslofjord. Sailing out from the Langkaia quay you’ll be treated to some wonderful panoramas of the city shoreline, able to take in the impressive architecture of waterfront highlights like the Oslo Opera House, Akershus Fortress and Tjuvholmen. Next you will sail past Bygdøy, with the eye-catching Fram Museum on one side and the idyllic islands of the inner Oslosfjord on the other. Throughout the cruise, soak in the spectacular views of islands, islets, picturesque lighthouses and the mainland.
On Sundays the route is extended to go all the way from Oslo to Drøbak and gives you a few hours to explore the cosy fjord town. Walk around the old wooden houses, sit down at one of the many cafés and restaurants, relax on a beach, go shopping, or visit one of the art galleries. Drøbak is also known as the Norwegian Christmas town, and you can visit the Christmas house and post office to send letters to Santa Claus. You can choose to travel with immediate return from Oscarsborg or stay longer to explore the historic fort and the island.
Oslo dinner cruise (Day 4)
Step aboard a dinner cruise on the Oslofjord. With panoramic windows and an outside deck, your boat provides a unique setting for a delicious arctic tapas menu, paired with a specially-selected glass of wine. Set sail into the calm waters of the Oslofjord with its green islands and picturesque lighthouses, admiring serene views and vistas across the Oslo skyline.
Fjord cruise to Mostraumen (Day 8)
As you set out from Bergen, look back on amazing views of the famous Bryggen waterfront and the whole city. Next you sail under the Nordhordaland Bridge and onto the Osterfjord. As you approach Mostraumen, the fjord narrows and steep mountains rise up around you. Sail past several waterfalls, maybe even collecting a sample of the fresh mountain water to taste if you’re lucky. Stop at the beautiful twin waterfall of Heskjedalsfossenand to take some pictures, then continue back to Bergen. Be sure to keep an eye out for the local wildlife, including seals, goats and eagles.
