Take some time out to discover all the treasures between Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea by car. Your multifaceted round-trip in the south of Italy begins in the Val di Noto, where picturesque towns double as UNESCO World Heritage Sites which inspire with ravishing flair. Then, visit the archaeological sites of Agrigento, with its mythologically influenced temples, before continuing to the north of Sicily - home to magnificent towns such as Tusa, Palermo, Cefalù and Santo Stefano di Camastra. You can finally drive along the coast via Sant'Alessio Siculo, Letojanni and Taormina until you reach Catania, the final highlight of your trip.
In addition to this route, you can choose from longer itineraries to experience even more Sicilian gems. Make an additional stopover in the west of the island for culinary hotspots like Alcamo or Erice and enjoy breathtaking sea views in Castellammare del Golfo. You could also add another region to your itinerary: the Aeolian Islands. Get a taste for this stunning Italian island with an authentic wine tasting. Set within a typical Sicilian cellar, you'll enjoy a tasty aperitif before becoming a connoisseur of local wines. Please note that this activity is only included if you are opting for the 11 or 14-night itinerary.

Boat trip to Ortygia Island (from Syracuse)
A boat trip around the island of Ortygia will allow you to admire the city from the sea, which preserves over 3,000 years of history in its heritage. The first thing you'll see is the Umberto I Bridge, which connects the island of Ortygia to the mainland. Continue to the mouths of the Anapo and Ciane rivers, around which some of the many legends of Syracuse are entwined. Afterward, you'll see Castello Maniace, one of Italy's most famous seaside castles. There'll be an opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea before the legendary Fonte di Aretusa dominates the port of Syracuse in the last part of the tour. After about 40 minutes, you'll return to port.
Visit to the vineyard and wine cellar in Sambuca di Sicilia with a light lunch
Visit the vineyards and a wine cellar in the countryside of Sambuca di Sicilia in the Monte Genuardo nature reserve. From vineyard to bottle, you'll be able to learn about the production of organic wines and take part in a tasting session. You can also expect extra virgin olive oil, freshly baked bread and local cheeses.
Etna wine tasting with a light lunch
Visit the charming grounds of Azienda Agricola Costa to enjoy a tasting of five different wines from the classic range, paired with a gourmet selection. These include crostini with pesto and pâté, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, bruschetta, cold cuts and cheeses with honey, pizza slices and focaccia and crispy almonds - what more could you wish for?
Walking tour of Catania
The tour begins with a visit to Piazza Stesicoro, where you can admire the Roman amphitheatre from the second century. You'll reach Via dei Crociferi, one of the most beautiful Baroque streets in Italy with its many churches, closed to the north by the portal of Villa Cerami (now the Faculty of Law) and to the south by the Arch of San Benedetto. Via Etnea takes you to Piazza Università with it's imposing central university building. The tour continues to Piazza Vincenzo Bellini, famous for the Massimo Theatre and then to Piazza Duomo, where the U Liotru Elephant Fountain and the Duomo are located. Through the characteristic Pescheria, you will continue to Ursino Castle, which is now the seat of the Civic Museum of Catania.
