How to get there
From Palermo International Airport, you can take a taxi or rental car on to your hotel with a drive time of approximately 35 minutes. Public transport routes are possible, but with a longer journey of two and half hours. We recommend hiring a car so you can explore more of this beautiful island at your own pace.
Entry requirements
The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.
Alcamo
Stroll into the charming, historic town of Alcamo to marvel at the architecture, browse the street markets and sample some of the best Sicilian wine. The Piazza Ciullo is a bustling, atmospheric square with plenty of surrounding spots for your aperitivo and of course a classic Sicilian dinner. The ornate, Baroque Alcamo Cathedral is also just around the corner and well worth a visit – not to mention the ancient castle also nearby.
Less than half an hour’s drive away, you mustn’t miss the famous ruins of ancient Segesta, where one of the world’s best-preserved Greek temples perches on a rural hillside. You can also head out of town down the Alcamo Wine Route, where you can visit vineyards and attend wine tastings. A day at the beach is also within reach from your hotel, Alcamo Marina and Spiaggi Plaja being about 20 minutes’ drive.
