The sprawling beach resort of Kusadasi languishes on Turkey’s idyllic Aegean Coast, offering a mix of lively nightlife spots, hectic bazaars, striking mosques and beaches. From the glittering marina you can catch a boat to the neighbouring Greek Island of Samos or hire your own vessel to explore the sparkling turquoise waters. Stroll along the waterfront promenade and take your pick from a plethora of Med-inspired restaurants: you’ll find traditional Turkish, elegant Italian and seafood specialities, amongst others, to choose from.
As well as beach activities and water sports, the area is the perfect spot for exploring Ephesus; the ongoing archaeological dig is revealing the capital of Roman Asia Minor and the fourth largest city in Rome's empire. Close by you'll find the farming town of Selçuk, the rural gateway to Ephesus, with its own Byzantine Basilica ruins and what's left of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - Temple Artemis.
