Go glamping in a spectacular safari park on the south coast of Kent, with a chance of seeing giraffes and other animals - includes breakfast, buffet dinner, a safari experience, and more
-
Bringing the savannah to Kent: Located in the tranquil, bucolic landscape of south Kent, Port Lympne Reserve is a true slice of the African savannah by the English coast. Taking its luxury tented accommodation to new heights, it now offers the chance to get up close and personal with their mesmerising giraffes, with a stay under the stars at Giraffe Lodge.
-
Award-winning experience: Offering one-night safari trips, Giraffe Lodge was a winner of the Tourism Experience of the Year award at the 2016 Visit England Awards - and for good reason. This utterly unique spot offers luxury camping in private safari tents, with views out over the park's watering hole and beyond to the English Channel.
-
Delicious dining: You'll be as close to an authentic African escape as it gets, with safaris led by the Reserve's specialist rangers. Dinner is served in the Lapa, a large African-style lodge with views across the wandering herds as the sun goes down. Here, traditional South African-style food is prepared over an open fire.
How to get there
Your luxury lodge is around 70 miles from London, and by car you can take the M2 onto the M20, and exit at Junction 11. Please use the postcode CT21 4PD - this will direct you to the hotel entrance, bypassing the gatehouse.
Entry requirements
The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.
Lympne
Port Lympne sits amidst 600 acres of stunning Kentish landscape boasting some of the best views on the south coast - on clear days, there are views right over the channel to France. There's a stunning range of species of wild animals, including the largest herd of black rhinos outside Africa.
The park has a dedicated mission of protecting endangered species and includes species like the Barbary Lion which are extinct in the wild. The park also boasts an extensive agricultural programme, growing vegetables appropriate to the diets of many of the animals, and herbs used in their medicinal cures.
