Entry requirements

Situated just inland, you’re away from the hustle and bustle overlooking the caldera but still within 10 minutes’ drive of dramatic cliffside views in Imerovigli, which offers a slice of quintessential Greek Island beauty mixed with upscale village living. Wander charming lanes adorned with iconic blue-domed churches and local eateries before stopping to watch the sun go down on the caldera from a sleek, cliffside bar. Beyond the region’s dramatic views, you could hike to Skaros Rock, a volcanic landmark crowned by the ruins of the 13th-century Skaros Venetian Fortress, or visit the charming Church of Mother of Lord Theoskepasti which stands at the cliff's edge.

For a change of scene, Fira, Santorini's capital, is just a 10-minute drive along the coast, while the whitewashed houses, charming art galleries and legendary sunsets of Oia await just a 20-minute drive in the opposite direction – you can walk to both, too, using the well-trodden paths; it’s a scenic way to take in the island and unveils many excellent photo opportunities. Being on the eastern side of the island, the volcanic beaches are moments away, too.
